Sarveshwari Memorial
Late G Sarveshwari was born as the eldest child on 10th June 1947 to Mrs and Mr G.S.K.Rao. She received her school education in Andhra School and later she did B.Sc. (Hons) in 1966 and M.Sc. in botany in 1968 from Delhi University. She was a meritorious student all throughout and she stood first in M.Sc in the University of Delhi. She was married and was a mother of three children. She developed first symptom of brain tumor in 1974 and was diagnosed to be harbouring malignant astrocytoma at AIIMS. She underwent surgery for the brain tumor on 12th March 1976 and also received radiotherapy. She was fine after surgery till the tumor recurred and she succumbed to the tumor on 3rd February 1977.
This oration was instituted through munificient grant by her loving husband.The first oration was delivered by Prof Kristian Kriastiansen of Oslo. Subsequent orations have beendelivered by eminent neurosurgeons of international repute every year in the Microneurosurgery workshop.
